last month we participated in a circular workwear conference in Borås, Sweden focused on textile flows, circular procurement, and practical solutions for more sustainable workplaces.
we brought our reusable shoe covers made in Gothenburg from high-quality upcycled leftover fabrics, a small but tangible example of how circular thinking can move from strategy into everyday practice.
conferences like this create space for important conversations about durability, material choices, procurement models, and how circular systems can be implemented in real workplaces. in many environments, from preschools and clinics to offices and industrial settings, disposable shoe covers are still widely used. they are practical, but rarely designed for reuse. our approach is different. we design for longevity.
at the conference, we spoke with municipalities, sustainability managers, and textile actors exploring how to reduce single-use plastic and strengthen circular procurement. conversations touched on digital product passports, traceability, rental models, and the importance of extending textile lifecycles. there is growing momentum around replacing single-use solutions with reusable alternatives that are both environmentally responsible and operationally realistic.
